Assigning courses

Who a course goes to, deadlines, automatic reminders, and nudging people who are behind.

From a course’s row under Teach → Courses, press Assign.

Who it goes to

A team here is a role from your organisation’s people admin, not something set up separately in Learn. Assigning to “Operations” means everyone who currently carries that role, worked out each time someone opens Learn — move a person into the role afterwards and they pick up the assignment; move them out and they lose it.

The dialog says how many of the people you’ve selected already have the course, so assigning again does nothing to them.

Deadlines

Set a deadline of 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, a specific date, or none. Without a deadline, a course just sits in someone’s Assigned to you list until they finish it.

Home shows the deadline as a badge — Overdue by 2 days, Due Friday, or No deadline. Finishing after the deadline still counts as finishing; it’s marked late, not failed.

Reminders

Reminders are on by default, sent automatically 7 days before the deadline, 1 day before, and on the day. A reminder is a notification in the same place as every other Mauvely notification.

Nudging people who are behind

A course’s report lists who’s on time, late, or past the deadline and still unfinished. Nudge the 46 — the number is however many that is — sends everyone in that group a one-off reminder outside the automatic schedule, for when you want to chase a deadline directly rather than wait for the next one.
