Mauvely Cloud stores files it cannot read. Encryption happens in your browser, before anything is uploaded, using keys that never reach the server in a usable form.

How the encryption works

Nothing in that right-hand column is a secret we are keeping — it is published in the security page because a threat model that lists only strengths is marketing.
What you can do with it
- Upload files up to 5 GB each, encrypted in 4 MiB chunks as they leave the browser.
- Organise into folders, rename, move, and recover from a trash that you empty yourself.
- Preview images, video, audio and text in the browser without downloading.
- Keep version history — 10 versions on Pro, 30 on Max, with restore.
- Share with a person by email address, as a viewer, commenter or editor.
- Share by link, optionally with a password, an expiry date and a download limit.
- Revoke either kind of access at any time.

The trade you are making
Because Mauvely holds no key to your files, Mauvely cannot get you back into them. There is no administrative override and no password reset that recovers data — either would be a key we hold, which would make the whole claim false.
Your password and your 24-word recovery phrase are the two things that open your vault. Lose both and the files are gone.
Planned
Shared team workspaces, per-app syncing from Compose and Snap, and native desktop and mobile clients are all designed but not built. Cloud today is a single-user encrypted drive with sharing.
