File ▸ Settings…, or Ctrl ,. Five sections down the left rail.
These settings are about the editor, not your course. A course’s own colours, typefaces and layout live in the Design tab.

Appearance

Theme

Light or dark for the Compose interface, or follow the system, which tracks your desktop’s light/dark setting automatically.

Layout

Scaling

Interface scale and dialog scale, each at 90%, 100%, 110% or 125%. Useful on a very high- or very low-density display where the whole interface is slightly off.

Language

Interface language: automatic (follow the system), English, Türkçe or Deutsch.
A language change takes effect after you restart Compose.

Editing

Starting up

Reopen the last course on launch — off by default. On, Compose skips the welcome screen and goes straight back into the course you had open.

Saving

Autosave only applies once a course has been saved somewhere. A new, untitled course is never written to disk behind your back — it waits for you to choose a location.

Blocks

Shortcuts

Every rebindable action, grouped by category: Project, Editing, View and Application. Click a binding and press the keys you want.
  • A conflict with another action is shown rather than silently accepted.
  • Reset all shortcuts returns everything to its default.
  • Changes take effect immediately — no restart.

Updates

Check for updates on startup — on by default. Compose looks for a newer release shortly after launch and every six hours after that. A failed check is silent; it never interrupts you with a dialog. See Installation for what happens per platform.

About

The Compose version, the Qt version it was built against, and the full path to your settings file — useful when reporting a problem.

Getting help

Help ▸ Report a bug… and Help ▸ Suggest a feature… open a form inside the app. Bug reports automatically attach build and operating-system diagnostics.
Submitting records the report in Compose’s own logs rather than sending it to Mauvely — direct submission is not switched on yet. Use Help ▸ Gather logs… to collect them, and attach the result when you get in touch.
